A Deep Dive into the Renovations Project Underway (Before... and Now)

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

Starting this past winter a renovation has been underway with the goals to both "refresh" and "modernize" the overall look and feel of the Villager community while at the same time addressing some long-needed repairs.

The planning and execution of the work involved many challenges. There were many opinions initially about the scope of the work and subsequently about the approach and the aesthetics. Staying within a tight budget while obtaining the best value for the money has been a priority. Many owners contributed time, expertise, and great suggestions to allow this to effectively move forward.

The first renovation taken on was the garages. The doors were often dented, the paint old, the hardware reaching failure point, and some roofing issues. There was a long period of evaluating various solutions and color schemes with much community involvement before a decision was made and work was scheduled.

Garages - Before and After. The new doors are installed and the garage buildings have been painted. The new hardware is smooth and nearly silent:

Following the garage door upgrades, work was started to fix decks, paint all buildings, and repair gutters damaged during the winter. Deck work was an operation shared between the community and owners, many chose to extend their decks along with performing needed repairs. This has been a long-going effort, impacted by spring storms. There was also much discussion regarding color schemes that have been recently addressed.

The final work underway is landscaping, signage, and driveway improvements. Much work is underway to beautify the grounds while making them easier and safer to navigate. The main entrance is rounded to keep cars from cutting corners. There will be speed-control features added to the roadway. The signage has been improved to adhere to a modern branding and also provide more clarity.

The work should be completed by the end of the summer, and hopefully you will agree after seeing the grounds or viewing the photos that our community has been much improved!
